How is The Midway State team going overall? Has it made things easier having Fancorps as a tool to manage and organize the team? The team is going really well! The Fancorps back end is really powerful, and makes it really easy to keep tabs on everything that’s going on. Whether it be rewarding members for their work, or gently reminding members that have become inactive - Fancorps has proven to be a very useful tool for our band.

Was there any sort of organized street team in place beforehand? If so, what was used to keep it all running? No, we didn’t have anything in place before. Unless you count a spreadsheet with a couple e-mail addresses geographically tagged a “team”. It was more a couple kids who seemed to message us a lot on Myspace who said they’d be willing to help.

How has the learning curve been for you running the team? Has it been easy adapting to the Fancorps system on your end? The learning curve was fast. It didn’t take me very long to get the hang of it, and actually look forward to managing / interacting with the team members.

What types of Orders are working best for the team? Online promotions or physical stuff? In my experience the Online promotions get the bulk of the attention. And for us, that’s really where we want the promotion most right now. There has actually been a direct correlation between the inception of our street team and our Myspace plays. Which totally makes sense given the involvement of most of the kids that sign up.

Have the communication tools within Fancorps (Messaging, Orders, Forums) made it easier to keep the team up to date and working on tasks you need help with? Totally, the forums are a great way to communicate with everybody and I haven’t gotten any complaints from anyone on not being able to get in touch with the team admin.

You guys seem to have a great buzz happening from a steady stream of press and developing radio play, how have the street team helped to expand in those areas? The online orders asking members to vote for us on radio stations, TV stations, write reviews on different websites (iTunes, Amazon, MTV etc.), blog about us, really help to increase our online footprint. With how important all things online are these days the larger the footprint the better. Without our street team that footprint would be much smaller.

What's coming up in 2009 for the band? We just completed our first headlining national tour and with the release of our record happening both overseas and in the U.S. in the new year, we’re going to continue touring all over the place in support of the record.
