   Song Title: Don't Turn Around

How long have Scarlet Kings been around and what is the band currently up to? Scarlet Kings entered the world more like a lion than a lamb. Before post-production was even completed on their self-titled debut CD, the quintet hit the high seas on Lynyrd Synyrd’s Simple Man Cruise. In addition to the southern rock legends, Scarlet Kings swabbed the deck with Marshall Tucker Band, Cowboy Mouth, Georgia Satellites and Zac Brown.

Immediately following this nautical rock and roll adventure, Scarlet Kings jumped ship and joined Lyle Lovett and Emmylou Harris for their Cayamo Cruise. A host of singer-songwriters graced the line up including John Hiatt, Shawn Colvin, Brandi Carlile, Shawn Mullins, Patty Griffin and Edwin McCain.

Upon returning to dry land, Scarlet Kings released their self-titled debut CD and hit the road for an exhaustive tour of the Midwest. During St. Patrick’s Day week Scarlet Kings hopped on a leg with Celtic rockers, Gaelic Storm. Together the two bands played sold out shows at Pabst Theater in Milwaukee and House of Blues in Chicago.

Was there any form of "team" in place before you started using Fancorps? We really didn’t have a formal street team.  Under prior management, some other programs were tried, but they didn’t go anywhere.  The best thing we had going were MySpace groups arranged by city.  All of these were extremely tedious to manage.

Was the transition of getting fans involved an easy one? Getting the fans onto Fancorps was extremely easy.  The Fancorps application took our everyday actions and formalized them by way of orders.  Now, new members can come on board and learn the system and about the band with minimal effort.  Everyone really liked the military paradigm and we ran with it.  We even have Fancorps shirts that are given to our dedicated fans who make it to the rank of Corporal.

Have the fans seemed to take to it easy? The majority of fans made it onto the system without any problems.  Those who didn’t make it through boot camp weren’t tough enough to be on our Fancorps anyway.  The boot camp is not only a great training prerequisite, but it does weed out fans that aren’t committed to the cause. Now we have fans actively promoting our music from the comfort of their homes while others take advantage of our show support orders and run our merchandise in return for activity points and store credits.

What's coming up for the band? Album? Tour? Scarlet Kings is now en-route to Florida for a show at the legendary Cheyenne Saloon and Opera House in Orlando and the Rock By The Sea festival on St. Georges Island. There the band will comb the beach with members of Sister Hazel and singer-songwriter Michael Tolcher. Scarlet Kings will wind up their whirlwind first quarter of life back in Nashville. On May 7th,  the band will perform an industry showcase at The Rutledge.
