There is one thing we are certain of as a company. We would be nothing without the street teamers who graciously offer up their time and effort to support and promote the artists they love. We deal with thousands of volunteers on a daily basis and are always floored at the lengths they will go to show us how much they care, regardless of the team, or artist.
Since 2006 when Fancorps was born we knew a large portion of our development would depend on feedback from the team members, as they are the ones who are knee deep in the platform on a daily, and in some cases, hourly basis. We recently surveyed over three thousand Fancorps members on a variety of related topics and were pleasantly surprised and validated by the results.
Survey Question #1: WHY ARE YOU A MEMBER OF THE FANCORPS TEAM(s) YOU PARTICPATE WITH?
These results clearly show that street teaming (regardless of it being digital or physical) is for the most impassioned fan. The type of fan that already has all the albums, wears your shirt, and already attends all the shows. 92% of the three thousand teamers said that "I'm a Huge fan of the Band/Team!" was the number one reason they are involved. This proves that using a platform like Fancorps where exclusivity plays a part really can stand on it's own, where only the biggest of fans stick it out for the long haul.
Even more interesting though were the middle tier responses. The networking and community aspects of Fancorps appear to be hugely important, as members are saying aside from the fact that they are a fan (which is obvious) those elements are key. This was great to hear on our end as we've focused on these areas since day one and have always stressed that a "team" of any kind has to be just that...a "team". It can't be all about work, there has to be a community for them to live and breath in, a place for them to mingle and call their own. |

| Lastly, and a bit surprising to us, was the fact that only 26% of the teamers pinpointed "Prizes" as a reason for their efforts. This further validates the networking and community aspects of Fancorps in that fans really just want exclusive access and to be shown that they are appreciated after they spend their time and effort supporting your cause. |

Survey Question #2: HOW OFTEN DO YOU LOGIN TO CHECK IN ON YOUR FANCORPS TEAM(s)?
70% of the teamers reported that they login at least a few times a week, with 20% of them accessing their team several times a day! You can't ask for much more dedication than that. After all, keeping their attention is half the battle in today's over saturated online world.
Survey Question #3: HOW WOULD YOU RATE YOUR TEAM LEADER?
The Fancorps platform contains some incredibly useful tools and functionality, but in the end it comes down to man power. Without a highly motivated and technically savvy "Team Leader" to instruct, inform, energize, and reward the members any team will suffer and eventually fail. We're fortunate that most band members, managers, and labels who utilize our system know what it takes to get the job done. With over 50% of the scores being an 8 and above on a scale of 1-10 it's obvious that the majority of those in charge of Fancorps teams truly "get it". (see chart below) |

Survey Question #4: WHAT SECTION OF FANCORPS DO YOU VISIT THE MOST?
Task management might be the single most important component of any successful street team platform, and our team members concurred. With over 60% of them heading to their "Orders" section the most this means they not only login to touch base with their team and friends, but they're willing to work, and that's certainly key...otherwise you simply have yourself another watered down social networking site to manage, and that's not what a street team is about. Fancorps' "Orders" section provides members the ability to browse and accept tasks they are willing to complete, gives them easy access to instructions and tools to help them do so, and an easy interface to upload proof of their work so you can be assured they are pulling their weight on the team. |

Survey Question #5: DO YOU RECEIVE TOO MANY ORDERS OR NOT ENOUGH?
An important part of being successful with your "Orders" is staying consistent and frequent so your members always have something to keep their attention, even if it's a small task, the fact that your cause is on their mind is essential. At the same time, you don't want to overload your members so that they feel too buried with the "work" part of the team and lose the enjoyment of being involved. It's a delicate balance and 65% of our members say we're "Just About Right" when it comes to the number of "Orders" they receive. |
Survey Question #6: DO YOU FEEL YOU ARE REWARDED ADEQUATELY FOR YOUR WORK AS A TEAM MEMBER?
Incentivizing your members is imperative. Regardless of how big a fan a person is there will always be a breaking point when they will begin to feel used if they are never rewarded. Always keep in mind that street team members give up their own personal time (and even sometimes their money) to participate and promote on your behalf, there's no reason you can't give back to them in the form of Rewards and Exclusives. 59% of our "Team Leaders" appear to be on point with their "General Store" and "Exclusives" sections. |

Survey Question #7: WHAT SOCIAL NETWORK ARE YOU CURRENTLY USING THE MOST?
The world of social networking evolves so quickly that it's tough to stay ahead of the curve. One thing for sure is that users flock to their friends, so wherever the crowd is you're likely to see the heard not too far behind. MySpace paved the way, and now clearly Facebook is leading the charge, with Twitter not too terribly far behind. Keeping your team (and yourself) informed and on top of all popular platforms is a key element to viral street teaming, it's clear most Fancorps members are just ahead of the curve. |
